JI’s APC terms Kerry-Lugar bill ‘death warrant’

KARACHI: The All Parties Conference (APC) has rejected on Tuesday the Kerry-Lugar bill of the United States’ economic aid saying it is no less than a ‘death warrant’ for Pakistan.
“The government must declare formal opposition to the Kerry-Lugar bill and refuse to accept the aid that is aimed at enslaving Pakistani nation,” demanded a resolution of the APC that was held under the aegis of Jamaat-e-Islami.
Leaders of Pakistan’s secular, religio-political and centrist parties unanimously rejected the bill at the APC.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, National Peoples Party, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf, Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan, Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan Awami Tehreek, Islami Tehreek Pakistan, Pakistan Democratic Party, Jeay Sindh’s officials endorsed the resolution at the APC.
The APC demanded an immediate halt to the drone attacks inside Pakistan’s territories and total and complete ban on the interference and intervention by the United States.
The resolution warned the government not to cross the red line of Pakistan’s legitimate interests because the bill is aimed at challenging the sovereignty and independence of Pakistan.
JI’s APC resolution cited the US ruling and opposition parties’ admission that Pakistan had suffered the losses to the tune of $50 billion because of its role in the war on terror.
“The $1.5 billion aid is just like peanuts. Turkish government was offered $30 billion but they refused to allow the US to use Turkish territories for Iraq war,” the resolution compared.
The APC said that the US terrorists were being allowed to live in Karachi, Peshawar, Islamabad and other cities and they were allowed to purchase and rent the houses and properties. They said that mercenaries were hired for terrorism in all over Pakistan, but they were blaming Pakistan for all sorts of terrorism in the neighboring countries.
“We don’t cast doubts on the ruling establishment,” said the APC. But, the APC made it clear they were shocked to see that the government is satisfied with the Kerry-Lugar bill that is the cheapest aid for Pakistan. On behalf of Pakistani nation, the APC turned down the bill vowing they would choose hunger on the slavery.
Maulana Asadullah Bhutto and Mohammad Hussain Mehanti of the JI, PML-N’s Mir Nawaz Marwat and Hafeezuddin, NPP’s Zia Abbas, Maulana Nazir Abbas of Islami Tehrik, JUP’s Siddiq Rathore, PTI’s Subhan Sahil, Muslim Rabita Council’s Nusrat Mirza, Ali Ousat Shah, and Qamar Bhatti of Jeay Sindh Qaum Parast Party also spoke.
They said that the bill has mentioned Quetta and Muridke and this was a proof of the intervention and the aims and objects of the US. They said that the bill is against the democracy and is aimed at creating differences between the army and the government.
They said this poisonous bill is also aimed at occupying the nuclear assets of Pakistan.
